Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha & Omega #1

Eric's Week 9 Pull List

[caption id=“attachment_403” align=“alignleft” width=“197” caption=“Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha & Omega #1”] [/caption] It was a heavily X-Men week for me this week. Some great issues and some OK issues. All links go to Comic Vine. X-Men Vol 3 #23 - The end of the Sentinels in Eastern Europe arc. Good, but not great. Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha & Omega #1 - Quentin once again causes issues at a Mutant School. This time he takes on Wolverine directly. I’m curious to see where it goes. The Defenders Vol 4 #2 - Matt Fraction continues to weave a crazy story here Huntress Vol 3 #4 - Things in this usually awesome mini-series took a turn for the worse. Hopefully it recovers Avengers: X-Sanction #2 - More Action! More Cable! Uncanny X-Force #19.1 - Really just an intro to a new Age of Apocalypse book that Marvel’s launching this year X-23 Vol 2 #20 - An awesome penultimate book in this series [caption id=“attachment_404” align=“alignright” width=“195” caption=“Penguin: Pain and Prejudice #4”] [/caption] ...

Uncanny X-Force #18

Eric's Pull List for Week 7

[caption id=“attachment_359” align=“alignleft” width=“195” caption=“Batman and Robin #4”] [/caption] Batman and Robin #4 - The creative team hits their stride as a book I was once sure to drop and collect in trades starts becoming a book I can’t wait to read every month. This issue has Batman and Robin deal with escaping Nobody’s trap as well as Batman’s parenting issues. This run could end up becoming as groundbreaking as everyone says Grant Morrison’s Batman and Robin was. Batgirl #4 - Batgirl’s faceoff with The Mirror! Will she finally win or will it be one of those battles where he escapes at the end? Gail Simone does a good job writing an issue that really makes me feel that Barbara is in good hands. I just wish she’d finally answer whether or not she was Oracle Superboy #4 - Superboy continues to be a bit emo, but it’s fun to watch. I think kids of a certain age would identify with him and I enjoy shaking my head at him. He travels to NYC and has some “fun” there. I’m curious to see just how this first arc ends. Penguin: Pain and Prejudice #2

Eric's Pull List for Week 3

[caption id=“attachment_170” align=“alignleft” width=“195” caption=“Penguin: Pain and Prejudice #2”] [/caption] Links go out to my reviews on Comic Vine. Avenging Spider-Man #1 - This is a hilarious issue featuring Spider-Man and Red Hulk investigating an issue in New York City. The writing is great and the art matches the quality. Penguin: Pain and Prejudice #2 - a cinematic look at the origins of Penguin and how Mr Cobblepot grew up. You really should be reading this mini-series. Marvel Point One One-Shot - a bunch of short stories that let you know what’s coming up in Marvel next year. Great stories, but you’ll probably find out about all this within Comic Vine’s news feed. Magneto: Not a Hero #1 - It looks like Magneto goes on a rampage. What’s really going on? Find out in this mini-series. Huntress Vol 3 #2 - the story continues as Helena tries to foil a human smuggling and prostitution ring. Another great mini-series that’s a lot of fun to read.
