Baltimore Comic-Con 2018: The Ringo Awards

The second annual Ringo Awards, named after Mike Wieringo, were a BLAST. If you’re in town for Baltimore Comic-Con you really should look into getting a ticket. It’s an Emmy’s-style event where dinner is served at the award venue and you get to share a table with some of the comic book industry’s greatest talent. The organizers once again hit it out of the park with their keynote speaker, Katie Cook. Her speech was so much fun and really resonated with me as someone who loves both web comics and retail comics. I think you’ll enjoy the various speeches given, particularly Denys Cowan’s story about Denny O’Neil and Tom King’s increasingly hilarious speeches as he won award after award at the show. ...

Baltimore Comic-Con 2018: Interview with Tom King

Tom King is a very popular man at this year’s Baltimore Comic-Con. I’ve been following him since he first showed up in artist alley around 2011 with his prose novel A Once Crowded Sky. As he was picked up by DC Comics and has proven his mettle on Grayson and now with a popular run on Batman, his popularity has grown along with his talent. So I was lucky to get a few minutes to interview him today as soon as the Baltimore Comic-Con opened its doors. We spoke about how Tom King sees Batman and touched on some points from early in his run on Batman.
