It was a busy week for my pull list. I’ve linked reviews on ComicVine where pertinent.

Daredevil #5 – The bare minimum in terms of quality for all comic books and I mean that in a good way. If you’re book isn’t at least this good, why are you even bothering?

The Ultimates #3 – Things fall apart for Nicky Fury and The Ultimates. Hickman has put the team in such a dangerous position that I don’t see how he writes his way out of it yet. Very cool.

Captain America & Bucky #623 – Bucky and Toro end up assaulting a concentration camp. It’s surprisingly heavy considering the light tone that this book tends to have.

The Red Wing #4 – Hickman’s mini about fathers and sons comes to a close. It’s confusing and arty and has really great images in it, but it didn’t blow me away. Still glad I bought it.

Amazing Spider-Man #672 – Spider-Island is pretty much done! Just the epilogue left. I liked the mini-series, but I’m not in love with Dan Slott. I’m on the fence as to whether I’ll continue with the book after the epilogue.

Venom #8 – Why did they have to go and announce that New Fantastic Four crossover with X-23?! I really want to stop reading this book, but I can’t if that’s next.

Incorruptible #23 – Both In-books seem to have lost their sense of direction. I’m interested to see what Max has planned for Coalsville, but I don’t like him without his sidekicks or Alana

Spider-Island: Spider-Girl #3 – Eh. It was good to see Anya back in action, but this mini was more disappointing than I hoped it would be.

Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #3 – Who cares? Really…This book and I just don’t get along.

The Incredible Hulk #1 – Got it for free from my comic shop! I will not keep getting it! Bearded Hulk is funny, at the very least. I’ll give them that. Banner is written as a complete asshole in the Ultimate U, but I didn’t know that was true of 616-Banner too.

  1. I never knew Banner as an a-hole either. Wonder how recent that is? After all, he became hulk because he saved a kid.

Looks like it wasn’t too strong a comic week for you, leaving you with Daredevil or C&D for the POW! Can’t wait to see what next week brings.
